Mac core audio app for metering audio output

I am running Ableton Live 10.1.9 on Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6 on a Macbook Pro 2. I have previously recorded audio in many times, but for some reason now it just will not work. The problem seems to be that the signal is not transmitting between the Ultralite and Ableton, but only on the inputs, not the outputs. I know the audio interface is working, because it sends audio out from individual channels to the required outputs, and I have also opened Guitar Rig 5 as a standalone app and selected the Ultralite as the input, and that works fine. You can choose mono recording by tapping or clicking on the drop-down menu, and the app picks up. I have reinstalled the driver for the MOTU interface, but it is still the same. By default, Audacity is set to record core and built-in microphone audio in stereo (two channels). When I connect mics or instruments to the inputs I can see the signal going in on the meters on the front of the Ultralite’s interface, but when I select the appropriate input setting on the channel in Ableton Live it doesn’t show the signal coming in.

All audio inputs and outputs are correctly configured in the Ableton Live preferences (see attached photo). It is important to have a 64-bit version of a Windows operating system installed in your computer before downloading Realtek HD Audio Drivers 圆4. This will enable your computer to communicate with audio devices such as speakers and sound cards. I have a MOTU Ultralite Mk3 Firewire interface set up as an input and output device in the audio preferences of Ableton Live. Realtek HD Audio Drivers is a software package for Realtek High Definition audio codec.
